Ababa Canvas Dots Ladies*

We present the Ababa Akaso. The design is inspired by the body painting of the Ethiopian Kara tribe. The Akaso label is a collaboration between Belgian designers and a team of Ethiopian body painting artists. In this way, they succeed in combining the traditional art form with contemporary fashion design. Ababa has a unique footprint sole that is particularly flexible and runs all the way to the heel. The comfortable slip-on design makes the Ababa a true feel-good shoe. The Ababa is handmade in Ethiopia. The social enterprise Soul of Africa gives young people the chance to learn the shoemaking craft. The materials used are sourced locally in Ethiopia. In addition, Soul of Africa supports social projects for the education, health care and care of children and young people in Ethiopia and South Africa.
